After the international launch of its first marque in 2015– the stunning Elandra 53 – the luxury yacht manufacturer will present a special preview of its latest model, currently under construction at the company’s Gold Coast plant, ahead of its official launch later this year.

SCIBS patrons will be treated to the first viewing of realistic renders for Elandra 49, with the release of state-of-the-art plans outlining the new sports yacht's interior and exterior in magnificent detail.

Elandra Yachts Managing Director Luke Durman invited boating enthusiasts to visit the company’s display at SCIBS and inspect plans for the spectacular new model, which has been developed with the same DNA integral to the current model Elandra 53, providing impressive internal volume and space for its class.

“We are excited to unveil the design of the new Elandra at SCIBS, to share our vision for our latest model under development with patrons at our home show, which has grown to become a world-class event that presents Australian innovation to an international audience,” Durman says.

“As the prototype nears completion, there is certainly a keen sense of excitement and satisfaction among our design team, Tom Barry-Cotter, Grant Senior and Simon Paul – who have worked closely through the development process to synergise the 49 sport yacht with the predecessor Elandra 53’s bespoke functional aesthetic and proven hull design.

“A lot of consideration has gone into creating a sports yacht that is optimised for its size. This model has been designed with a spacious open-plan saloon, bringing the outdoors in, and with three cabins it is ideal for young families and people looking for more from a 50-footer, in terms of internal volume and space.”

Elandra 49 incorporates the brand’s signature broad beam (spanning 5.0m/16.4ft on the 49). It can accommodate modern family cruising, with two queen staterooms, including the full-beam master suite and ensuite featuring a private shower and separate toilet, while the second stateroom shares a generous bathroom with a single or optional double bunk bed cabin on the portside.

The expansive saloon includes the aft-cockpit lounge, which converts a u-shaped dinette to a coffee setting, as well as a second chaise lounge that adjoins the cockpit.

Concertina bi-fold doors open out to the cockpit, creating a sweeping deck space that replicates the design of the larger 53.

Mr Durman said the Elandra 49 would be powered by twin Volvo D11 670 horsepower engines, and was made for extended cruising, weekend trips and entertaining, with the option of an extended hydraulic swim platform.

From a functional sense, Owners will appreciate the storage garage, accessed from the swim platform to provide plenty of space for additional items, including inflatables and fishing gear.

Elandra Yachts will also showcase the latest edition of its flagship 53 model during SCIBS. Described as the Bentley of the Sea, the Elandra 53 embodies spacious free-flowing design, superior engineering and superyacht finishes.

The Elandra 53’s acclaimed performance, intelligent electrical systems and high fuel efficiency have driven some interest, while its design embraces a single-level entertainment concept around an 5.25m beam.

Elandra has committed $3.5 million to research and development in 2016/17 and is driven by its positioning statement, “Inshore Elegance. Offshore Confidence,” representing a mission to match the best of European styling, while staying true to the robust character of quality Australian craftsmanship.
