Modern Vintage also won German iF Design Award in 2015 and Hyperlien Yacht is the only Asian yacht brand that won MYDA in recent years.
MYDA commented the winning yacht as ‘modern reinterpretation of the pilot boat with accurate formal solutions for comfortable spaces’. The parent company of Hyperlien yacht - Taipei Base Design Center - has more than 20 years of space design experience and won lots of international design awards. The yachts were inspired by early mini cars - lots of equipment in the yacht is either retractable or convertible so even the limited cabin is able to be tuned for its maximum effect, and the Owner can enjoy the relatively bigger spaces, compared to the other yachts of similar size in the market.
“With a removable coffee table, or the aft bench seat that can be extended as a single sun cushion, we maximise space flexibility,” Hyperlien Yacht Director Janus Huang says. “This 28’ yacht may not be big, but the space available for use is much more than its original size. I designed Modern Vintage for weekends or holidays and that’s why I considered about every detail. Modern Vintage has an extra pair of stainless steel wing, which maximises the space of cabin, and it’s also easier to control the yacht and gain the balance.”
Different as most of existing yachts in the market that shows speed by its clean lines, Modern Vintage extracts the arc line elements and high waist design of vintage sports cars in 60’s and 70’s, presenting its classic and elegant style on the water.
Besides, Hyperlien Yacht offers different exterior styles, such as vintage cars, naval ships, sports cars and camouflages. It also designs exclusive equipment for Modern Vintage, including the aluminium alloy fishing kit by the concept of saddlebags for anglers. “Modern Vintage is a mass-produced yacht but Owners can still create their own style!” Huang says.
