This year’s event, built around 27 combinations of boutiques and shipyards, was enriched by important events. A round table panel, which discussed industry, legislation and nautical tourism, including the president of UCINA Confindustria Nautica Carla Demaria, President of Nautica Italiana Lamberto Tacoli, Honorary President of Altagamma and Owner of the Nautor’s Swan shipyard Leonardo Ferragamo, and maritime lawyer Giandomenico Boglione.
In addition, it also hosted the presentation of the World Match Racing Tour Sailing Series® and the Yachts & Gentlemen exhibition, held in Palazzo Borromeo d'Adda in via Manzoni 41, illustrating the genesis of the great yachts, their Owners’ dreams and the designers’ ideas that helped make them a reality: photographs, designs, and memories retracing the most recent decades of yachting, highlighting the entrepreneurial skills, craft and ingenuity that gave rise to an industry of Italian and international distinction.
"The second edition of the MonteNapoleone Yacht Club was a success. We made the effort to fill our initiative with content that speaks the language of excellence in preparation to the both the Fashion District and the Shipyards, which share an exclusive clientele. We are convinced that Milan, which accounts for the largest number of yacht Owners in Italy, full of passion for the sea and the nautical world, deserves this event. Our aim is to make MonteNapoleone Yacht Club a point of reference for the nautical sector on an international level. Not secondary to the movement of business created inside the boutiques," states President of the MonteNapoleone Association Guglielmo Miani.
The poll conducted by the MonteNapoleone Association indicated that in addition to the high number of visitors during the week, the event generated sales for almost 60% of the boutiques, more than 50% of which also stressed the presence of an international public.
At Palazzo Borromeo d'Adda in via Manzoni, the gala dinner, designed by Michelin-‐starred chef Davide Oldani, gathered together business leaders, yacht Owners, designers and companies. In addition, via Montenapoleone was enlivened with numerous cocktail evenings organised by boutiques, shipyards and yacht clubs.
The MonteNapoleone Yacht Club initiative, promoted by the MonteNapoleone Association, currently representing 140 luxury brands, among the most important in the world, has been enriched by the Unique event where the jewelry and watch makers - Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Bulgari, Chantecler Capri, Damiani, Jaeger-Lecoultre, Montblanc, Omega, Panerai, Piaget, Sabbadini and Vhernier - displayed specifically for the occasion.
Catamaran M32 in the Sailing Series® regatta format was exhibited in Piazzetta Croce Rossa, as an institutional partner. Borsa Italiana, the Italian stock exchange company among the major European stock exchanges with over 350 listed companies, was supported by Fraser Yachts, world’s number one broker in the yachting sector, and by Valverde, water partner.
