“The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous will once again bring superyachting-minded people together in a relaxing Thai atmosphere”, says long-time organisers Captain Charlie Dwyer and Gordon Fernandes, with an invitation to yachts of 75ft (25m) or longer to join the prestigious event.

“We are delighted to be the official host venue for this year’s Asia Superyacht Rendezvous. We believe that SALA Phuket Resort & Spa with its focus on personal and private service, culinary offers and design complement the high-end experience of the participating Superyachts,” says SALA Group Director of Business Development Nicolas Reschke. “As a host venue, we strive to become a meeting place for think-alike minds to enjoy the best accommodations that sea and land offer.”

The deluxe pool villa resort and spa is situated at Mai Khao Beach. Combined with Nai Yang Beach to the south, it is the longest stretch of sandy beach on the island, covering 9km. A special thrill for Rendezvous guests from October to February is giant sea turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs on this stretch of sandy white beach.

“The SALA Phuket Resort and the ASR both cater to the lifestyles of individuals to whom luxury, beauty and tranquillity are of keen importance,” ASR organisers comment. “ASR 2016 provides a platform for networking and exploring the surrounding cruising grounds, while at the same time participating in a number of friendly races and exclusive social events.”

The exclusive gathering of Owners and Captains of some of the world’s most captivating vessels will converge to enjoy the camaraderie, convivial atmosphere and tailor-made festive events of the annual Rendezvous.  Superyachts in attendance from Asia and around the world will represent a value of US$200,000,000. A projected 15 beautiful floating palaces will gather Owners and Captains and guests for sea and land for socialising, fun activities, palatable cuisines and exciting sailing races.

“Coming on the back of a hectic but rewarding King’s Cup, it was reassuring to find such a relaxing and well-organised environment,” comments S/Y Arabella Captain Morgan Hayes. “The Rendezvous team could not have been more accommodating and professional and the host hotel management could not have been more helpful.”

Those attending in 2016 can look forward to enviable programmes including the opening day cocktail party on a superyacht, two days of competitive but friendly superyacht sailing races on a course marked by mammoth motor yachts, a festive and fun model boat-building and other races – the popular ‘Challenge’, an exciting 'Pirate Booty' treasure hunt and the closing yacht parade followed by a gourmet VIP dinner in the exclusive SALA Phuket Resort.
