Amels is Damen’s luxury yacht builder and partner for the Yacht Support range. “What is a better way to prove the great advantages of the Yacht Support concept than a purpose-built showcase vessel?” says Amels Managing Director Rob Luijendijk. “Construction is underway at Damen in Holland and the YS 5009 will shortly begin sea trials. In Monaco we plan on bringing a full array of toys, tenders, a submersible and dive equipment.”
Nine vessels from the Yacht Support range have been delivered or are under construction.
“The upgraded 69.15-metre YS 5009 offers all the benefits of larger helicopters, safer operations, bigger tenders and a great variety of toys,” says Damen Product Director Yacht Support and SeaXplorer Mark Vermeulen. “You accommodate more staff and crew. Plus, we can deliver in eight months from signing depending on the client’s requirements – no other solution can match that.”
Damen’s comprehensive list of pre-engineered options to configure the vessel illustrates the YS 5009’s flexibility. Custom configurations include:
Submersibles, dive store and tenders, safety equipment and accommodation.
With all the gear, speed and space needed for the high-end sailing experience.
Touch-and-Go helipad or fully certified – increase the operational envelope, larger aircraft and charter operations.
All-weather protection with several hangar possibilities, including telescopic sliding doors to maximise free deck space.
