Mediterranean Yacht Show Attracts 75 Crewed Yachts

The Third Mediterranean Yacht Show was held at the medieval seaport of Nafplio, Greece. The event witnessed the participation of 75 crewed luxury yachts and an increased attendance of luxury charter brokers from all around the world.

Organised by the Greek Yachting Association (GYA), the yacht show aimed to highlight yachting’s dynamic for luxury travel in the Mediterranean and globally. The yacht show welcomed more than 300 yacht brokers from a wide range of countries, including Australia, Anguilla, Argentina, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cyprus, France, Greece, Israel, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States of America. The show was supported by the Municipality of Nafplio and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, Development & Tourism.
The event also had an exhibition character as 18 industry professionals displayed their yachting services and supplies. The yacht inspections were accompanied by a varied programme of events, including a presentation of Ionian and Peloponnese itineraries by Captain Zois Skrimpias.
Cocktail receptions and themed parties on board individual yachts rounded out the days and offered excellent networking opportunities. Numerous on board food-and-wine tastings took place during the yacht show.
Atalanta Golden Yachts showcased a total of 12 yachts - Can't Remember, Duke, Helios, Jaan, Kentavros Ii, Kintaro, O'Pari 3, O'Pati, O'Rion, Parcifal, Rena & Suncoco - at Nafplion Port, including the masterpiece, M/Y O’Pari 3. She was the largest yacht exhibited, boasting a 71.85-metre overall length.
Atalanta also hosted a Roaring Twenties “Gangsters & Dolls” themed party aboard M/Y Jaan on the occasion of its 10-year anniversary. Party-goers dressed in gangster suits and vintage dresses, adding to the overall festiveness of the occasion.

The Chefs from Atalanta were awarded in the show. In Category A Platinum of Chefs’ Challenge Compeition, second place was shared by Chef Kostas Kampas of M/Y Jaan and Chef Giannis Papageorgiou of M/Y Duke. In Category A, Chef Marios Glykas of M/Y Kentavros II took third place. The crew of M/Y Helios received the award for Best Tablescaping (A Platinum), a new category added to the Chefs’ Competition.
The May 7-10 yacht show was also attended by numerous premier global yacht charter companies such as Camper & Nicholsons, Edmiston & Company, Fraser Yachts, Yachting Partners International, Burgess, CharterWorld, CSO Yachts, IYC, Northrop & Johnson, Ocean Independence, Premium Yachts, Yachtzoo, Luxury Charter Group etc. Furthermore, the event was attended by representatives of MYBA, the Worldwide Yachting Association.
The next edition of Mediterranean Yacht Show will be held Apr 29-May 3 2017.
