Shanshui Taihu had been accredited under the Marina Industries Association’s (MIA) previous Gold Anchor Scheme, while for Yalong Bay Yacht Club, this is the first time it has achieved Gold Anchor accreditation.

Yalong Bay Yacht Club is a modern 150-berth marina within the confines of the luxurious St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort. Taihu Shanshui Club and Marina is a 110-berth exclusive club style marina located on the freshwater lake at Wuxi.

MIA President and Chairman Andrew Chapman CMM travelled to both marinas for the presentation ceremonies.  He says these presentations are very important being the first two marinas in China to be accredited under the new Global Gold Anchor accreditation Scheme.

“Both Yalong Bay Yacht Club and Wuxi Shinshu Taihu Shanshui Club and Marina are very suitable first recipients of Global Gold Anchor accreditation in China,” says Chapman. “With their excellent land and on-water facilities and services, they provide a suitably high benchmark for other marinas in China to aspire to”.

Yalong Bay Yacht Club General Manager Mally Xiao paid thanks to Chapman and the Yacht Club team’s effort.

“It is our honour to be the first marina to get 5 Gold Anchors under the new Global Gold Anchor scheme in China. Our Club always insists on the concept of member service first and to holding more sailing events for members,” Xiao says.

“Thank you to our ex-Vice GM Wayne Pan and our whole staff’s efforts,” says Taihu Shanshui Club and Marina General Manager Roger Lei. “We will take this honour (5 Gold Anchor) as a new start and work harder and harder to supply high quality service to our members and yachts Owners”.

The Global Gold Anchor Scheme is a joint venture initiative between the MIA and The Yacht Harbours Association. The Scheme aims to inform consumers as to the level of services and facilities at marinas and to provide marinas with a pathway for continual improvement.
