“The Bliss crew and I had a wonderful time at The Rendezvous,” comments 37m S/Y Bliss Captain Sheltrum who attended in the last edition and will also join this year. “It was well organised at a beautiful location with loads of fun and to top it off, we got some great sailing in. With or without guests on board, I highly recommend the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous to any superyacht in Southeast Asia, I guarantee you will have a fantastic time.”
The Captain’s Briefing will be held in the meeting room of the SALA Resort at the opening day Dec 16. VIP guests will then be whisked away by tenders at the custom built jetty for the ‘Opening Night Cocktail Party’ aboard the beautiful phinisi-style S/Y Dunia Baru.

The next day will be the first day of superyacht racing. “Guests from the SALA Resort will be accommodated on board yachts so they can view first-hand what’s going on and experience the thrill of watching the incredible spectacle of superyachts racing,” says ASR Co-Organiser Gordon Fernandes. “Guests will later enjoy the popular ‘Benetti Challenge’ boat building and racing party, with competing superyacht teams, to be held on the lawn between the Renaissance and the SALA resorts. There’s still time to sign on to join others keen to meet fellow superyacht Owners and Captains; to join the racing (or pleasure sailing) whilst enjoying the exclusive whirlwind of elegant yet relaxed events on and off vessels. The regatta is only open to yachts over 70ft.”
The award-winning SALA Resort will also provide stylish facilities for guests onshore, including two extensive beachfront swimming pools, world-class beachfront restaurant and bar, award-winning spa, a fully-equipped gym, a library, gift shop, board room etc. Wi-Fi internet connection throughout the resort will be available for the guests.
Excursions will also be held, such as Full day Phang Nga Tour, Full Cultural Tour Special, Cultural Tour of Phuket, Phuket Island Sightseeing, Family Adventure, Phang Nga tour, Full day Shopping group tour, Full day Shopping Private tour and Half day Shopping tour, or the resort staff will help one design one’s own tour. Tours can be arranged before, during and after the event for ASR guests.
Mammoth vessels will stage a show during the Superyacht Parade as they sail and motor into formation on the Bay. A private Gala Dinner will be held after the second day of race for superyacht Owners, Captains and VIP guests. The presentation of the first ASR Winner’s Race Cup will take place at sunset and draw the two-day event a conclusion.
“Many superyachts venture out before and after the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous, some staying for the holidays,” ASR organisers say. “You can choose amidst the many Islands close by once you are in this part of the Andaman Sea. Cruising visitors can witness incredible bays, limestone pinnacles, fascinating beaches, crystal clear water, great rocks, and other features on the Andaman Sea and surrounding islands of Phuket. Some of the best islands to visit include Phi Phi, Similan Islands, Koh Racha, Railey, and so much more.”
