Violette Fung is a Hong Kong citizen who has travelled around the world, and made a career from delivering quality customer service. A 13-year career in the airline and hospitality industry was followed by a senior position at Ralph Lauren working with VVIP clients.
As a member of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, her participation in sailing and marine leisure activities has grown over the past 10 years from cruising to sailing and competing in some of Asia’s toughest races. Her experience enables her to meet the needs of clients who are new to boating, alongside the more experienced Owners. Since last month, Fung has been a Committee Member at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club.
Fung is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, and spends time helping with charities for the underprivileged in the city.
Another Yacht Broker Tom Allen was born in London and grew up in various parts of the world before working for over 10 years in the United States. Allen is always curious about people and their respective cultures, and Hong Kong has always captivated him.
In early-2016, Allen fulfilled a lifelong dream and moved to Hong Kong, which led him to Simpson Marine. Allen’s late father grew up boating off the east coast of the United States, and both his love and respect for being on the water were quickly passed on to Allen and his younger brother. After childhood summers sailing and boating in Maine, Tom spent recent adult years enjoying the waters near Boston Harbour and also in the vicinity of Palm Beach, Florida.
Elliott Cheng has been promoted to take up the role of Group Chief Operating Officer. Cheng joined Simpson Marine in June 2013 as Group Chief Financial Officer.
He holds a Master of Project Management degree from The University of Southern Queensland and obtained his Doctorate degree in Corporate Finance and Business Administration at The University of Newcastle, Australia. He is also a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Cheng has over 20 years of experience in business development and corporate finance, having worked in some of the world’s leading multinational companies. He also has a lot of experience of mergers and acquisitions, international business and corporate governance in the Asia-Pacific region.
As COO, Elliott will be responsible for managing all the daily operations of Simpson Marine around the region and oversee Service, Human Resources, Compliance, Management, Finance and Accounting.
