With six units already sold before launch in Cannes Yachting Festival 2017, the 27m SX88 from Sanlorenzo is built and assembled in the La Spezia shipyard. SX88 is the first model of a full range of four models spanning from 27m to 36m. The delivery of the motoryacht will start from spring 2018.

This motoryacht was conceived in-house stylists, led by designer Luca Santella, the developer of the Bluegame range. SX88’s exteriors also benefit from the creativity of Officina Italiana Design’s Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta. Piero Lissoni took care of the interior design for the first unit. The hull water lines were developed by Lou Codega.
The motoryacht with carbon fibre superstructure has an open stern to fulfil different functions of garage, beach club and sport activity area.
The superstructure is glassed and painted in dark shade to reduce the volume perception and to balance the superstructure and the windows.
The only steering position is the fly bridge on the upper deck, protected by a windshield that can be closed by side saver windows and by strata glass panels or by an easy operating rigid structure.
As a result, the fore area of the saloon on the main deck is free and can be arranged as the owner’s cabin or remains as a multi-functional open space. The whole main deck can be open from stern to bow.
The fore area of the main deck is fully equipped and furnished to offer a relaxing and functional living area with a double L-shaped sofas with coffee tables and an extended sunbathing surface, with the possibility to directly connect with the interior.
The level of the beach area is five steps lower than the main deck and can accommodate a 15ft tender, a jet ski and other toys. The crane to move these watercrafts is hidden in the profile of the handrail.
Cleared from the watercrafts, the wide beach area, extending 2ft over the water, offers 30sqm of beach club shaded by sunbrellas.
If the open space layout on the main deck is chosen, a four or five-cabin layout is available. If the owner’s cabin is chosen to locate on the main deck and the galley on the lower deck, three or four-cabin layout is then available.
The crew quarter is astern this deck, just fore the engine room that thanks to the Volvo IPS 1200 power engines. The semi-displacement GRP hull was tested in Wageningen in Holland to optimise speed range, up to 23 knots.
Rina awarded SX88 with the Green Class. SX88’s construction process is based on low environment impact procedures and materials developed and tuned by Sanlorenzo. Thanks to the combination of high power lithium batteries with new lighting technologies, low consumption systems, efficient thermal insulation assured by the special new insulating glass fit on the windows, SX88 can use all the services on board for four to eight hours at zero emissions.
