The motoryacht Arrow 460-Granturismo from Silver Arrows Marine has won the Best of the Best award in the Wings & Water’s Crossover Yacht category by Robb Report in China. The first motoryacht from the shipyard is now in production and available for commissions, priced from €2.5m plus taxes, after its launch at France's Côte d'Azure in April 2016.

The 14.17m Arrow 460-Granturismo, which has been designed in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Style, is the first motor yacht to marry luxury automobile design, features and materials with a hull profile and power system. Martin Francis Tommaso Spadolini designed the concept and Van Oossanen was responsible for the naval architect.

An open or closed “loft living” interior, “pergola” roof system, advanced glazing, concept car-style interior design and materials, and multi-purpose functionality including acting as a party boat for 10 people to luxury overnight accommodation for two.

The award applauded the innovative 14m-motoryacht as “actually more like a new Mercedes S-Class.”

Robb Report added: “It offers a soft ride, roll-down side windows that turn clear or opaque, a hydraulic swim platform, and an interior by Mercedes-Benz Style that is as plush as a limousine’s.”

Silver Arrows Marine Chairman Ron Gibbs said: “We are thrilled to be selected as one of Robb Report’s Best of the Best for 2017. Arrow 460-Granturismo has always been a project without preconceptions with a brief to smash the mould for motoryachts in its class with a wealth of innovations and new solutions.

“We passionately believe Arrow 460-Granturismo to be the Best of the Best and it’s great to know a voice that has been championing the finest things in life for almost 30 years agrees with us.”

In the marine category of the 2017 awards, Robb Report commends what it calls “the brave new world of crossover yachts” that involve automakers’ own design teams working with established shipyards–exactly the approach pioneered by Silver Arrows Marine.

Robb Report says that yachts like Arrow 460-Granturismo “break boundaries when it comes to exterior design, use of exotic materials, and innovations completely new to the yachting world.

Silver Arrows Marine Chairman Ron Gibbs added: “As pioneers in this sector we wholeheartedly agree with Robb Report’s conclusions, but merely naming a boat after an iconic sports car is not enough. No other yacht in the 14m class that is now available to commission merges marine and automotive excellence as deeply and with such innovative results as Arrow 460-Granturismo.”
