Turkish boutique yacht designer and builder Mazu Yachts confirmed to debut three new yachts – 38 soft top, 38 open and 42 walk-around – at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival 2017 (September 12-17). They are customised and can be used as either overnight cruisers and superyacht tenders.

Mazu 12m/38ft soft top has been launched in June 2017. Designed by Halit Yukay, the yacht has been sold to a European client. He desired to achieve a “military look” that combines the latest luxury superyacht tender amenities and elegance.
The owner of Mazu 38 soft top is an “Armani style enthusiast”. The yard decided to use as many different textures of leathers and fabrics as possible – from Foglizzo and a number of mirrors to give the maximum depth interiors perception, like in a loft condo.
Yukay also designed an indoors lighting mood from the Italian supplier Cantalupi. Mazu 38 soft top is equipped with two Volvo Penta IPS 400 engines and the boat is claimed to reach a top speed of 34 knots.
Mazu 38 open has an open plan layout with alfresco dining space in the aft deck and an en-suite bathroom with separate full standing shower. The hull colours, fabrics and finishes are customisable.
The boat has two galleys with Gaggenau appliances both inside and outside, equipped with cooker, grill, microwave and oven, along with sink, fridge, deep freezer and ample storage for crockery and provisions. A bimini, aft deck shower and swim platform with a retractable swim ladder on the transom provide added cruising benefits.
The carbon Mazu 38 hull is equipped with Volvo IPS 400 and can reach a top speed of 36 knots, and with more powerful Volvo IPS 600, it can run up to 45 knots.
The largest of all three Mazu’s models to be shown in Cannes, the 42 walk-around has an overall length of 11.99m and a maximum beam of 3.7m. The centre console, protected by a modern superstructure, leaves room for two lateral walk-arounds. The yacht has a freeboard that is high enough to allow safety movement on deck while at sea.
The sun bathing area is located near the stern, while forward the cockpit is complete with a V-shaped settee and a second settee forward of the console. The size of the aft platform has allowed the yard to create a seaside terrace. A mobile kitchen comes with Gaggenau appliances.
Two 435hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 give the Mazu 42 walk-around a top speed of 47 knots, with a cruising speed of 32 knots.
