The project will have five zones including marina, commercial, theme park, eco-park and public services. All five zones are expected to be completed in phases by 2020 and cover a total area of 44.2 hectares.
SUTL Enterprise will be involved in the master planning of the marina zone, where a luxury resort marina will be developed to include a marina with around 185 berths, a clubhouse and hotel with related amenities, dry berths and a repair and maintenance area.
Of the 185 berths, 35 berths will be designated for a private luxury marina and the rest for a public marina. The private marina is expected to be completed by December 31 2017 and the public marina by 2018.
Arthur Tay, SUTL Enterprise Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, said that discussions were also underway for SUTL Enterprise to manage the integrated marina under its ONE°15 brand upon completion.
“This contract comes at an opportune time as Indonesia looks to develop its maritime tourism industry. The Indonesian government has setup a Tourism Ministry’s Maritime Tourist Industry Development Acceleration Taskforce to expedite growth in this area. The government has also step-up efforts to quickly improve services for international yachters visiting the archipelago. Given our track record and capabilities in developing world-class marinas, we believe SUTL Enterprise can play an active role in helping Indonesia achieve its dreams.
“PT PPI’s proposed marina in Banyuwangi that is truly in line with our own vision to build more marina destinations around Asia. This marina will be one of the four integrated marinas PT PPI is looking to build. The other three intended marinas are located at Bali, Lombok and Komodo in Indonesia overseeing the beautiful East Java and Bali seas.
“We are very excited at the prospect of working on this project as we envisage that the upcoming integrated marina in Banyuwangi will be the crown jewel of East Java and it will attract more yachting enthusiasts to the area.
“We look forward to finalising the contract from this MOU as PT PPI recognises SUTL Enterprise’s stellar track record in integrated marina consultancy services. Our Group remains hopeful of securing a management contract with PT PPI for the proposed marina in Banyuwangi and establishing a long-term working relationship with them.”
SUTL Enterprise is currently consulting for another project in Indonesia. Located in Jakarta, the Indonesian Navy Club managed by ONE°15 is expected to be completed in 2018. The Group will also manage this marina upon completion.
Elsewhere in the region, the Group has a contract to provide consultancy and management services to a marina under construction in Guishan, Zhuhai, China to be named ONE°15 Marina Guishan. It is expected to be completed in 2018.
It also has an agreement with UEM Sunrise Berhad to incorporate a joint venture company to develop a public marina, a private marina and a superyacht marina in Puteri Harbour of Iskandar Puteri in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor. All will be branded ONE°15.
