Crowds of people in the 16 exhibition halls, including sailing, luxury yachts and the Beach World, confirmed the trade fair’s position. Number of international visitors has increased, with most came from the Netherlands, followed by Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Austria and France, and overseas visitors from the USA, China and Australia.
“Our strategy of continuing to internationalise boot has worked. This is apparent now in our visitor structure,” said Petros Michelidakis, Boot Director.
Michelidakis has also observed a generation shift, which the visitors are considerably younger, and especially attracted to the new Beach World with 65m flatwater pool and the standing wave.
The Beach World – a South Sea flair offering actions on water – recorded a 10 per cent increase in attendance following the move to the new hall, with just under 110,000 guests who watched the activities on ‘The Wave’, and 1,500 visitors tried the wave out for themselves.
With large crowds to the show, Messe Düsseldorf CEO Werner M. Dornscheidt said: “These figures are unique in the industry. No other water sports trade fair reflects the entire world market in all its diversity as completely as boot.”
