The two Lagoon’s Asian debuts – both by VPLP Design featuring exteriors by Patrick Le Quément and interiors by Nauta Design – was launched at the 2017 Cannes Yachting Festival. The 50 features a large open cockpit, wide stern skirts and a large modular dining area with removable beach seats. Also with a cockpit looking out to the sea and fitted with a sunbathing area, the 40 offers three or four cabins options and a choice of accommodation layouts.
In the Aquila motor catamarans range, the 44 – named the ‘Best New Multihull 40’-49’’ in the 2014 AIM Media Editor’s Choice Awards – offers a 360-degree view from the spacious saloon and galley with a large seating area, hidden TV stowage. An oversized flybridge with added enclosure, electric grill, and sunpad seating on either side of the central helm station are among her additional features.
Another Aquila showcase, the 36, offers topside summer kitchen with smokeless grill that is usually seen in a large yacht. A hardtop is available with or without an opening sunroof. Powered by twin 250 horsepower Mercury Verado outboards, the Aquila 36 can reach 27 knots.
Other catamarans at the yacht show includes Multihull Solutions’ Fountaine Pajot 44 and Sunreef’s Eaglewings.
