After a sea delivery from the Singapore Yacht Show, the Sun Odyssey 440 was sailed around Hong Kong Island with clients and media, topping 8 knots with 10.5-knot wind conditions. It was the 10th hull of the model.
The Philippe Briand-designed 44-footer takes inspiration from scow-hulled working boats, which have squared-off forward sections, offers a beam towards the bow of the vessel. This provides the owner’s cabin with generous volume.
Thanks to a lack of barriers between the cockpit and the deck, and a gentle sloping of the deck towards the stern, movement is made easier. This improves circulation in day-to-day use as well as safety for guests onboard.
