The 55-metre DAMEN Yacht Support vessel AXIS (181 ft) will join the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, in the Superyacht Pavillion, from October 31 - November 4. For the complete Bahamas experience, the DAMEN Yacht Support vessel offers the perfect combination of luxury and fun with lots of toys, tenders, a Triton submarine and Icon sport aircraft.
DAMEN is co-exhibiting AXIS – a YS 5009 delivered in 2016 – together with Ocean Independence, who represented the owner for the purchase. AXIS is not for sale, but available for charter in the Bahamas.

“The oceans, the islands have a lot more to offer than just chartering a white boat,” says the American owner of AXIS about his remarkable fleet including a 50-metre Westport (164 ft) and 16-metre Viking 52 Open Express Frigate (52 ft). “What we’re talking about is a complete experience, whether it’s diving, submarining, fishing, sightseeing and all the toys with jetskis and sailboats.”
DAMEN has delivered 12 Yacht Support vessels since introducing the range in 2009, including POWER PLAY which recently appeared at the Monaco Yacht Show. DAMEN currently has five new vessels under construction. The next available YS 5009 will be delivered in summer 2019.
Also appearing at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show's Superyacht Pavillion is Dutch luxury yacht builder AMELS' 55-metre Limited Editions superyacht GENE MACHINE (180 ft).
The yacht’s American owner has kindly agreed to showcase the AMELS 180 as a fantastic example of the six designs in the AMELS Limited Editions range. A number of new Limited Editions superyachts are now under construction at the AMELS yard in the Netherlands and available for delivery as fast as 2020. Sharing unforgettable moments and relishing the free spirit of yachting has made GENE MACHINE one of the world’s best known superyachts. Thousands of fans follow the yacht’s adventures through their social media channels. In Fort Lauderdale, AMELS clients can step on board and see GENE MACHINE for themselves.

“Hosting GENE MACHINE in Fort Lauderdale is a fantastic opportunity to share the experience of owning an AMELS with our clients,” says Rose Damen, AMELS Managing Director. “GENE MACHINE has an adventurous owner who has really made the most of his AMELS 180 to see amazing places in the world with his family.”
In between her travels, GENE MACHINE has returned several times to the AMELS yard for the yacht’s 5 year special survey, service and owner-requested modifications with the AMELS Refit team.
