Italian superyacht builder Canados launched a new Canados 116, a 35-metre planing yacht and the flagship of their flybridge planing line. The yacht went to an European owner who will sail through the Mediterranean in the coming season. Equipped with twin MTU 2400-horsepower engines, the 116 has a maximum speed of 29 knots, with a cruising speed of 25.

The exterior design of the yacht was developed by the yard’s Technical Department, while the interior was designed by Salvagni Architetti, a Rome-based design studio. On the main deck, one finds the saloon, with dining area showcasing furniture by Saarinen and Mies van de Rohe, and the kitchen by Boffi. The lower deck is destined to the owner and his guests, with the owner’s suite, a VIP and two twins, all with ensuite bathroom. The three crew cabins located forward on the lower deck and  are accessed from the kitchen.

Polished ebony and matt whitened oak were selected for the furniture, with bamboo for the floor. The wheelhouse located forward is a separated area on an independent deck. Canados has launched roughly 650 motoryachts and 150 sailing yachts in its 60-year history.
