A mere two weeks after her launch, the 30-metre sailing yacht Magic Carpet³ showed outstanding performance abilities during the Gaastra Palmavela regatta in Mallorca over the May 1 to 5 weekend, out-matching all races in real-time and crossing the line between five and twenty minutes ahead of her closest competitor.

Wally Launches Superyacht Magic Carpet

"I’m thrilled with the outcome of this groundbreaking project, that engaged me and my team for over two years", said the owner and helmsman, Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones, enthusiastically. "Magic Carpet³ is precisely what I wanted and expected her to be, totally fulfilling my goals and all the briefs. She is the natural evolution of my breed of yachts: very fast, very beautiful, comfortable, technologically advanced, and easy to sail."

The WallyCento line was developed by Reichel Pugh naval architects, with the exterior and interior styling by the revered Wally design team.

"Cruising in comfort at the speed of the fastest maxi race and racing at the highest level of competition is the dream of every passionate yachtsman," explained Luca Bassani Antivari, founder and CEO of Wally. "WallyCento is the first and only superyacht line making this dream come true, and Magic Carpet³ truly reflects this whole concept. She is a true step forward in yachting evolution and embodies the new generation of high performance sailing cruiser, setting ever higher standards in naval architecture, systems, equipment, and construction technology."

"We are very thankful to Sir Owen-Jones who actively contributed to the definition and development of the WallyCento box-rule," added Bassani, "and gave us the opportunity to produce this very innovative superyacht."
