Two prestigious awards have confirmed the success of the Azimut Benetti Group at the Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes 2013. The group had 20 models on display, three of which were worldwide premieres.
Organised by the French publishing group LuxMediaGroup, the World Yachts Trophies are considered among the most prestigious awards in the industry, since the boats are selected and evaluated by a panel of highly-skilled and specialized experts, formed by the board of directors of this media network.
The Azimut 80 was crowned queen of the gala night winning the 2013 Yacht Trophies for the “Most Functional Yacht” in the 24 to 50-meter range. The Montecarlo Yachts' 86 and Ferretti Yachts' 960 were her competitors in its category.
The Benetti-built Ocean Paradise was awarded in the “Best Interior Design” for an over 50-meter boat. Owned by a Singaporean businessman she will also be on display at the upcoming yacht show in Montecarlo.
"We are very proud of the awards given on the occasion of the Cannes Boat Show which marks the opening of the boat show season. The awards were given to two particularly innovative models from our shipyards and in which we have invested significant research and development. These awards show that leading industry experts recognize our unremitting efforts; a debut, which we hope will be a prelude to the full appreciation by the rest of the market," said Francesco Ansalone, marketing director of the Azimut-Benetti Group.
