The final day of the 2014 PIMEX Phuket International Boat Show brought smiles all round as exhibitors packed away their displays and reflected on another successful show.

The RPM villa had hosted a poolside VIP cocktail party the night before, which was popular and well attended by exhibitors. The soulful sounds of local diva Eka set the scene, and chef Eneko, holder of three Michelin stars, from the newly opened Iniala Resort provided the world-class food.

By the end of Sunday the show had hosted more than 3,800 visitors from 56 countries. Just over half of all visitors having come from outside of Thailand, with Russians making up the single biggest group.

Among the luxury items that had been sold at the show were yachts, properties and Harley Davidson motorcycles. But perhaps more importantly, the health of Thailand’s marine industry had been reaffirmed.

The assembled fleet signalled the end of the show by blasting out a maritime fanfare on their horns. The day after the show also proved to be busy, as the flotilla of yachts waited for their chance to make their way down the channel and out to sea, heading back to homeports around Asia.
