La Datcha 77m Expedition Superyacht Launched

On July 8, Damen Yachting launched the second in its SeaXplorer series of expedition superyachts, the 77-metre La Datcha. This new superyacht from the Dutch yard is due to begin a global charter itinerary that will include tours through Russia’s Kuril Islands for heli-skiing in Kamchatka, and dive adventures in the waters near Papua New Guinea.

The new 77-metre yacht will be available for charter in the La Datcha Tinkoff Collection. The SeaXplorer 77 will have her first charter in the Mediterranean Sea in October, on her way to the Indian Ocean for the winter of 2020/2021 charter season, before moving to the Western Pacific.

La Datcha accommodates up to 12 guests and features an extra-large beach club with sauna, steam room, massage area and gym. A crew of 25 will be on hand to deploy an array of tenders, toys, aircraft and equipment to support onshore and on water adventures. The interiors were designed by architect Vasiliy Shprits for Russian financier Oleg Tinkov, who founded a Russian online bank before starting the La Datcha series of high-end hotels.

La Datcha’s naval architecture is by Damen Yachting and exterior lines by Azure Yacht Design. Key features include the dual heli set up complete with a fully certified primary helideck as well as a standby deck for a second helicopter and a below-deck hangar which can accommodate both helicopters for safe stowage. The yacht also features complete onboard fuelling, autonomous systems and a bow observation lounge with 270-degree forward-facing views as well as ice-breaking capabilities and an IMO Polar Code compliant hull. Among the tenders is a three-person submersible.

The SeaXplorer range was introduced in 2015 thanks to creative input and design by the Damen Research Laboratory, Azure Yacht Design and EYOS Expeditions, who provided hundreds of operational design features based on their real-world expedition experience.
